Digital Privacy
Few tips on how you can protect your customers' privacy and also yours as a business.
- E-mails: Keep the content of your e-mails private. Don't use Gmail. Switch to Proton
Mail or Tuta.
-
Ditch Google Analytics for more privacy friendly alternative. For example Umami, Matomo or Fathom analytics. If you have to keep it, then ask someone to set it up for
you, to minimize what Google sees about your website visitors.
- Online forms: Try Palform instead of Google forms.
- Remove all non-essential trackers from your business website. You don't use the data to make business decision?
Then don't help big corporations collect data on your customers. Remove Facebook Pixel, Microsoft Clarity,
TikTok Pixel, any tool you don't really need or use.
- Protect all your accounts with strong passwords and two-factor authentication.
- Don't use same password for multiple accounts. Really. If the password gets stolen during a breach, hackers may
use it to access all your other accounts. Read more about how passwords get stolen and how you can
protect yourself.
- Take GDPR seriously.
